Super Snoopy Snackie Sunday: Culpa

We all have our faults and we all have our vices.  The Catholic Church even defines seven of them as "deadly" or "cardinal".  But what if you’re not Catholic?  Does that matter?  Not here….not today!  Taking religious connotation out of the equation, we can still identify with those Seven Deadly Sins no matter which walk of life we come from  Hell, they were even featured in the movie that Brad Pitt starred in before he got annoying….yanno, Seven.

The Seven Deadly Sins are as follows:

1. Lust
2. Gluttony
3. Greed
4. Sloth
5. Wrath
6. Envy
7. Pride

Holy cripes….if I *were* a Catholic, I’d spend a helluva lot of time genuflecting, that’s for sure!  But since I’m not, I can take these at an every day value and tell you which one of them I am guilty of the most.  Not that there’s much room between some of these in my personal bag of "woopsies" but still, if I had to pick just one it would be lust probably.  Sure, sloth and gluttony are probably right behind lust but still….I have to base my decision on what I am guilty of the most and I guess it has to be lust.  Every time I masturbate…lust.  Every time I eyeball a hottie (whether I touch or not)….lust.  I think even those platonic crushes I have….lust!  Lust lust lust, lusty lust!  I guess I can just be thankful I am not most guilty of the original sin….Pride.

So my question for you today is:

WHICH OF THE
SEVEN DEADLY SINS
ARE YOU MOST GUILTY OF COMMITTING???

Again, you don’t have to believe in the religious aspect of it all….if you are not religious, pretend you are watching the movie Seven and you just have to make that choice!

    Ha! The nuns from my youth would have a field day swatting the back of your hands with rulers! Ok, they didn’t actually hit us (by that time it was forbidden, thank goodness!) but they sure made us flinch every time!

    I think I’ll go with Lust, followed closely by Pride. Greed and Wrath are tied for third.

    OOooo….okay. I’m going to go with Gluttony as my worst sin. Why? I think I could eat until I nearly explode, and enjoy every mouthful. I could wipe out a Dunkin Donuts display…I could wallow in a salad bar…and I could eat freely and wantonly without regard for my ever-expanding waistline! (See why I have a weight problem?)

    Eating triggers that pleasure center thing for me, I guess. After Gluttony, gosh its a toss-up! LOL! Anger,Pride,and Envy leading the way 123…but Lust is making a bid for the lead in that pack! The more I am stimulated that way, the more that is so, because unfortunately I also am vain as a part of Pride!:-D

    Least of these sins is Avarice and Greed. But the sum total wreckage of the others is enough to deal with, thanksomuch.

    Maybe Envy: I have serious house envy… I drive around and look at houses. It’s best at night, you can see in better.

    I commit all of them equally, which isn’t very much at all actually. I didn’t realize I was so pure.

    My sin is that I think Brad Pitt was interesting long after Seven. What about Fight Club and 12 Monkeys (those were after weren’t they?)?

    Wrath, definitely. Don’t believe me? Ask the chick I almost decked the other night at the club. Although I plead not that guilty on that one as she motorboated me.

    As a lapsed Catholic, the guilt from committing these seven deadly sins daily is enough to drive me to an early grave.

    1 = Envy (of the baby variety)
    2 = Gluttony (says I after four Hershey bars)
    3 = Wrath (I need Prozac. Seriously.)
    4 = Greed (How else do you explain my scratch-off lottery ticket obsession?)
    5 = Sloth (no direction whatsoever in life)
    6 = Lust (very rare)
    7 = Pride (I’m very ashamed of the mistakes I’ve made, so I never feel pride.)

    I wish I could say it was something cool like Lust…but as for most frequently, it’s probably Sloth. (See, for example, that last time I updated my blog. Sigh.)

    Lust for sure. I’m like you, lusting over new crushes, old crushes, platonic crushes, whatever. It’s what keeps a smile on my face! My second would be gluttony… although I’ve been trying to keep that one under control. :)

    One does not live as long as I have, and not be guilty of all of those at one time or another. Lately, though, I’d have to say I’m most guilty of sloth and gluttony.

    I guess in the past, gluttony. Just eating way too much crap and not caring about it. But I have changed ways in the last year so I guess the next I would be guilty of is envy. Hate that but sometimes I feel it in regards to certain friends of mine.

    Ha, someone already took mine - I was going to say, “what if I lust after food? That’s like 2-in-1″ Damn, and for the infrequency that I travel here, you’d think I could at least get to say something original! :) I’m sure there’s also some sort of double-points sin for lusting after someone who’s married though, right? That’s probably like a one-way ticket I’m sure. So me too, I guess you would say I have some lusty issues. Wait, or should that be “lusting” and not “lusty”, as if people lust after me? Eh… either way, I digress. See what happens when you start thinking about sex :)

    I think mine is lust as well.

    That movie scared the crap out of me. At our old house, I actually hid the movie behind some others because seeing the box freaked me out. I think I left it at our old house when we moved because it was so disturbing to me.

    Oh, gee… it’s a toss-up. I suppose gluttony and sloth and lust and see? Now I’m just naming them all again. I don’t think I’m any one of them, just all of ‘em rolled into one. Does that make me a bad person?

    Gluttony for sure. As I type this I’m sitting next a giant bag of movie popcorn and dumping mini M&M’s in it and I just had lunch. Disgusting!

    Pride. Hands down but I am hot and smart. But I really envy your answers but I’m too lazy to write them down here. I wish I could but YOU CAN’T MAKE ME. Maybe if you paid me, I would then I could buy some chocolate or a baked chicken or something.

    Hmmm, this is a tough one. I have committed all of these at one time or another (like most of us, I’m sure). I’d say that the one I’ve committed the most times is probably gluttony. . . . think that might be why I’m so fat? ;)

    Hello ! I’m french, so, sorry for my language ! (j’ai cliqué sur le lien du blog de Laurence) Today, my sin is… (not deadly, i hope) gluttony. I’m eating just once a day, but it’s… an “orgie” ! We are OK that is not a deadly sin ??? lol
    NB : i love “Hotel California” too. I’ve heard “la java de Brodway” (song of Michel Sardou, a star in France) in New York, and now, i have to hear Hotel California… In California !
    (like Schwarzy could say, “i will back” here to learn english-american language !)
