Blogger Of The Month: March’s Mad Hatter!

When a person guest-hosts two radio shows, has a birthday, travels all over the world and still “brings it home” in his blog entries all in one month?  Yeah, it’s that person’s turn to get featured no matter how sure I am that someone will cry “favoritism”!  You see, there has never been any doubt in my mind that this person was destined to “make it” here once this year, but my oh my (*swooning with the vapors*)….I just didn’t know it would be so soon.

As I’ve said before, there are no prerequisites for what makes someone my Blogger of the
Month
.
One month it could be about how well a person waxes prosaic while
another it could simply be that their layout did not bug the shit out
of me.  This month I picked a person who has a blog design that I emulate, posts that bring in the masses every single damned day, and a milkshake that brings all the girls to the yard!

Everybunny Loves Dave!
Shazam, bitches!  March’s Blogger of the Month is none other than Dave2 of Blogography!  Now then, if I can get all the roaring applause and cat calls to stop, that would be just plain lovely.  Sure, it’s no real secret that Davy-Joe is mah friend but that is not why he is receiving this prestigious award.  Really it’s because he’s cute as all hell with that bunny.  I mean seriously, how tasty IS that picture?  Ok ok, I kid.  The main reason I chose Dave is because he’s kept me entertained on a “blog” level this last month and he is therefore truly deserving of some recognition.

As a blogger, Dave is a true giver.  Anyone who has been around for one of his Blogiversaries knows that.  Speaking of which, I love the way this man can turn something that would usually be “attention-whorish” and make it all about his loyal readers by giving them things just for knowing all about him.  There’s a dichotomy in the whole thing that makes me smirk but at the end of the day, his kind heart and devotion to his minions readers shines through.  Besides that, Dave always entertains us effortlessly with his DaveToons and quirky way that he, Lil’ Dave and Bad Monkey look at life.  You may laugh when I say “effortlessly” but I’m serious!  One of my fondest memories of Dave was his email about the Snackie Teevee banner: “Oh Hilly, it’s no big deal…I just made it while eating pudding and watching TV”. Yeah, if that doesn’t earn him some super blogging stud points, I have no idea what does.

I happen to know (as do a lot of you) that Dave is not a huge fan of the phone.  Even though Blog Talk Radio is pretty much one giant public phone call, Dave made his radio debut by co-hosting Pointless Drivel Live with Mr. Fab.  He’s also agreed to do me a super solid and co-host Snackie Radio on March 30th!  You think that would be enough but I’ve seen him slutting around the blogosphere here and there, guest posting for people who need the help.  Hell, he even out-sculpied Fab (Fab’s words, not mine).   Hrm, what else?  Oh yeah, he does a very informative Bullet Sunday too.  Most importantly,  YOU HAVE SIX STALKING DAYS LEFT until his birthday!

I could go on and on about why he is really deserving but do I really need to say more?  I’m fortunate to have Dave as a friend, but this is not about that…this is about why he sincerely rocks the blogosphere.  If you don’t know Dave (hahaha, as if) then I suggest you check out his blog.  And by “suggest” I mean “I’ll be holding a gun to your heads”.

Ahem, anyway…..each of his entries are great and different than the one before.  I’d have to be here all day if I listed all of the good ones, but here are some of MY faves:

Believe
Querypalooza
Thong
Jesus
Knawledge
While Hilly’s Away (his first post here)

There are many many more, with great toons and all…but as Dave knows, I like the ones where he shares a little bit of his guts.  Mmmm, guts.  So Dave, here’s your crappy badge that you should display with pride, you big whore! (I only say “crappy” because giving you a graphical gift is like handing one of my shitty drawings to Renoir):

Dave's Badge

If you venture on over there, tell Dave that Hilly-Sue says howdy!

BOTM3 Kisses,
Me

OMG! I so totally deserve this! I wish I could be humble here, but it is ME we’re talking about, so how can I? It’s all true… and everybody should be forced to read my blog at gunpoint! I kind of want to say “thank you”… but given my tremendous ego, I guess all I can really say is “what took you so long?” I mean, it’s been DAYS since you’ve said how great I am. I look forward to being “Blogger of the Month” again next month. Until then…

  13. turnbaby Says:

    LOLOL @ Dave’s comment.

I love the badge–it’s cool beans.

  14. ajooja Says:

I have such a man-crush on Dave. The whole “no big deal, I did while eating pudding and watching television” is what gets me more than anything else. He’s just such a talented graphic artist.

I work in a related field but I feel like I’d be superhuman if I had that kind of graphic artistic talent in another pocket. (Sadly, that pocket has nothing but lint.)

On top of that, Dave was everything I hoped for when I met him in person. Seriously, one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.

  15. Penelope Says:

*Applauds* *Wolf Whistles* Ohhhh sorry, that was for Hilly, was I supposed to say something about Sir Dave2?

I just realized my comments never made it on your blog last week. Sorry Doll– I blame firefox - you know I love you right? Even more than I love Dave (believe it or not).

  18. Hilly Says:

  26. Diane Mandy Says:

I am on my way now. Thanks!

  27. SJ Says:

Dave was my very first blogfriend back in the day. I was so happy to find out he’s even sweeter in person than on his blog. He’s a genuinely good-hearted man, and I don’t think he has a mean bone in his body.

Although I’ve heard he has one mean boner.

P.S. to Dave: I wear my lanyard every single day at work. I can still feel your vibes on it …

  28. Tracy Lynn Says:

Deep love to the Davester, and my I say that my Davenumber? She is AWESOME.

  29. Jane Says:

I think a lot of wonderful people were born in March. ;)

  30. hello haha narf Says:

    dave for president!!!

(i think anyone would be honored to have your adorable badge for their blog. don’t sell yourself short!)

  31. Shelli Says:

I feel exactly the same way about my bed. It is the only place that I am 100% safe.

It’s funny about the mask thing because, today, I was just thinking about the “real” me. I was thinking that most of the people in my F2F life don’t know the real me. They really don’t. I don’t let them in that close. But all of my friends (or bliends, ask I like to call them) on the Internet do know who I really am. I put it all out there on the line, after line, after line of my heart spilling all over the page. Why is that, do you think? I don’t have an answer. But it makes my heart hurt when I think about it.

(p.s. I worry that I am repeating myself on my blog, too.)

  32. Shelli Says:

“AS I like to call them”, not “ask I like to call them”.

  33. Robin Says:

    Awesome choice! Dave rocks!
