Blogger Of The Month: Eat More Takeout In May!

Ironically, that subject-line is a “that’s what she said” just waiting to happen…

Anyway, hey it’s May! That means it’s time for yet another blogger to become my coveted Blogger of the Month. Just *how* coveted is definitely up for debate but let’s move on from stroking my ego, shall we? I’d like to stroke someone else’s for a change. Last month, I swore that this month’s recipient would not be a man. In fact, I was a little worried about Britt’s reputation, what with being surrounded by a bunch of hot guys. However, this certain someone caught my attention by making me laugh and truly cry all in the same month. As a result, he also made me change my mind about my own little sexist rules.

As I’ve said before, there are no prerequisites for what makes someone my Blogger of the Month. One month it could be about how well a person waxes prosaic while
another it could simply be that their layout did not bug the shit out
of me. This month I picked a person who is just good at being himself (inside and out) on his blog and truth be told, I find that refreshing.

That’s right, shiny happy people…just in case the title didn’t *totally* give it away, the person we all have to worship this month is Shiny from Shiny’s Takeout! Go ahead, clap and cat-call! Like always, I’ll wait….. Anyway, I really didn’t know much about Shiny at all until right before TC08 but as soon as I got his digits (read:URL), I was hooked like a big fish. Besides that fact that I love his blog to death, I really relate to him on a personal level, and he’s become a good friend. I swear I am not tainted by that fact though….it’s the blog that makes him taste so good! I know I mentioned a little bit earlier one of my main reasons for liking his blog but please, allow me to extrapolate. Shiny’s not only witty and clever but also honest and raw. It seems like he’s just not afraid to put himself out there, come what may, and since I am the same type of blogger, I have mad respect for him. Not a lot of men would be comfortable enough to share their pain regarding the loss of their mother on their blogs, let alone vlog it. And, I don’t care what anyone says….a man who can cry is a man worth knowing.

Besides all that serious stuff, the man has a most interesting outlook on the simplest things in life which totally jumps out on the page. I love the fact that when I read his blog, I have no idea what the hell is coming next. Keeping me on my toes earns you big brownie points! I think you’ll all love his blog for many of the same reasons that I do, if not more!

I actually could have picked about five more favorites but I’ll spare you the overload of awesome information. What I’d actually also like to point out is that Shiny is running a really neat contest right now as well. Apparently you smart people can just guess the location of some aerial shots that he took using one of his obsessions (no, definitely not porn), send him an email and win a prize! WooHoo for you smart people. I’ll just be over here in the corner counting on my fingers ;). Oh and although the expiration date originally says you have to get your entries in by today, I have it on good authority that he’s going to extend it, but shhhh…I never said that ;).

    I like the man, too. After all, he made me feel good when he said, “You’re the Shelli everyone has told me I should meet.” Several times. Gotta love a man who flatters you.

    All: Thank you for all of the overwhelmingly nice comments about me. Although only about 48% of them are factual, I’m just… fortunate that I’ve got so many friends out there. And I thank you.
