Hey cats and kittens, it’s time for more hot Blog Reader Appreciation Week action! This week is all about me appreciating the hell out of you and the rewards range from random prizes to just making you feel as all loved and stuff. Some of you are lurkers, some readers who pass by once and again, some regular commenters and blog friends for years, and others who have wormed their way into my everyday life and have become my dearest friends. No matter how long we’ve known each other or how well we know each other, I am here to tell you that ALL of you matter. Without each and every one of you, this would just be Hilly’s Blog, not the wonder that is Snackie’s World because hi….a “world” needs a diversity of cool people running around and shit.
Just in case anyone wonders, both previous Blog Reader Appreciation Week posts are still open for questions and comments! I’m amazed at the response to both the ‘question“ and “declaration“ posts and hope you’re all feeling like you have a place to just let it all hang out! Speaking of which, today is no exception. It may be blatantly obvious by now that my Blog Reader Appreciation Week post choices are not just random bits of chance…in fact, I’m often putting new variations on old themes. These posts are made to make everyone feel welcome and like they can participate each day so I hope it’s coming across the way I intend it to!
We all know that in order to be loved, we need to love ourselves. I believe that the same holds true for appreciation…we must able to notice and relish the great qualities that we have in order for others to see the same. So today is sorta like Self-Love Day but with a twist of limon! Here’s what you’re going to do….you’re going to tell me three things that you love about yourself. I know that this sometimes can be a really hard thing to do but please just sit down and find three! Then, if you want, you can tell me ONE thing that you like about me. Of course, in comments, I will tell you the one thing that I like most about you. And please, take more time to figure out what it is that you like about yourself than what it is you like about me….because again, it is ALL ABOUT YOU this week. So, as one to never ask anything from you that I would not do myself, here are mine:
About Me:
1.) I am amazingly technologically savvy, generally sans instruction manuals.
2.) I’m loving, warm and extremely loyal.
3.) I have a great sense of humor and can bring the funny!
About You:
1.) In general, you are an awesome group of people. I rarely get stink-ass comments here and just realized that I don’t have a blog enemy, so there’s that! I’ll get more specific with individuals.
By the way, today is a CONTEST WINNING KIND OF DAY! Each person that is able to find those three things that they absolutely adore about themselves will get their names “put into a hat” then I will “pick out a name” at the end of the week! (I use quotations because I’ll actually use an online generator ala Avitable but yanno…same concept). Today’s prize will be a $30.00 Amazon Gift Certificate with a runner-up prize of a little Homedics handheld massager in either hot pink or electric blue! (No pervs, really a massager!). So bring your milkshake to the yard and start telling me what you like about yourself.

This is really difficult for me because I’m so used to feeling as though my presence on the face of this Earth is and has been inconsequential.
That said, I spent a long time thinking about this (mostly because I just started my first cuppa and my brain is still sleeping).
Here goes:
1) I am a loyal friend. Not just through the good times, but especially through the bad times. I would never turn my back on a friend regardless of the consequences to myself.
2) I am (sometimes) brutally honest. My friends and family know that if they don’t want to hear the truth, then they don’t ask me the question.
3) I am a champion of the underdog. I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt and I always approach things with an open mind and never sit in judgment.

Three things I love about myself? Eesh. This is hard for me lately becasue I feel like I’ve been failing at everything…..so here goes:
1. I can make conversation with anyone, hell, even anything (I often converse with inanimate objects). Not only can I make people feel at ease, I can identify that exact moment in the middle of a conversation when they start to relax as a result of my talking.
2. I’m a great/anal organizer. I can de-clutter with the best of them and I do so on a regular basis. You won’t find closets crammed with junk in my house - just organized and labeled baskets.
3. I truly appreciate my friends and I will stick by them through thick and thin.
What I love about Ms. Snackie-Poo? I love that even though she feels vulnerable, she puts herself out there for us every day. I’ve learned so much about myself through readings your posts - you have no idea how much you have helped me.

Okay, I’ll throw my hat in.
1. I am one of the most non-judgemental people I know. Sometimes to a fault. I look at people with the rosy glasses that see no faults, except those which were created by something outside that person’s control, and therefore making them worthy of love all the more. Sappy, but fuzzy.
2. I have a nice rack. Triple D’s baby!
3. I can sing like nobody’s business. AND write music/play instruments. Those dumbasses at Nashville Star had NO idea the talent they let slip through their fingertips. Thankfully I have a huge fan base here at home and regularly get my ego stroked.
Oh…and lastly? I’m not bad lookin’, if I do say so myself!

1) I am a loyal friend to my friends and do my utmost to always be there for them
2) I am a pretty kickass single mom, I think. The Kid loves being here and his friends love hanging out here too. And I’ve raised a great boy. So I think I did pretty well on my own.

1 - I am really good at keeping things together at work. I do all of those behind the scenes things that make everything function, but make it look like it’s no big deal because it’s all stored in my head.

The thing I like about you Ms. Hilly is that you are so friendly and reach out to people (like myself!) that you really aren’t “close” with (yet!) but you still have this inviting presence that makes a person feel comfortable and truly want to get to know you better just because of how welcoming & accepting you are. I think that is a rare thing now days.

1. I am loyal. Beyond what is normally recognized as healthy. I would kill for my family (thankfully that hasn’t been tested yet)
2. I am so very gullible. I take everything at face value. If you tell me something I will believe you. I am capable of reading between the lines, and will probably figure out if you are just fucking with me. I now use my husband as a judge of character, because I have gotten burned so many times (see #1, now combine the two. I am fucked)
3. I root for the underdog always.

3. I am trying to work on moving out of my comfort zone and make new friends, and try things I haven’t before.
