Snackie Sunday: A Very Important Date…

I’m pre-posting this entry too!  I’m a crazy maniac on a mission, I tell you!  One thing that often happens when I *am* on a mission is that I lose track of time.  I absolutely *hate* losing track of time because that often makes me late.  When I start running late, I end up rushing through things that I probably shouldn’t, therefore forgetting things or sometimes even losing them.

So uhhh, yeah….

Snackie Sunday

DO YOU RUN LATE, EARLY OR ARE YOU GENERALLY ON TIME?

Here’s the deal with me…I hate being late and I detest it even more when others are constantly late.  I generally tend to run on the early side of “on time” most likely because my Dad has always been that way too.  I’m sort of that freakshow that plans it so that she gets there exactly at the meeting time.  It’s both a skill and a very scary character trait!  Living in Southern California has taught me that it’s okay if I am 5-10 minutes late because everyone else is…well, here they are.  When I am other places, I have to remember that I’m not on “SoCal Standard Time” at all!  However, if someone else tells me they are going to meet me *at* noon and then they show up at 12:23?  I’m fucking irritated.  Conversely, if they say *around noonish*, then I expect them to be up to an half hour late.  I know, right?  So many rules, so little time…

Me

I think that lack of punctuality should be the 8th Deadly Sin.
Especially when it’s a friend meeting you somewhere or something- I mean why is their time more valuable than mine?

I should stop being so uptight. :P

I am always early - so’s my mom
my brother sister and dad - always late
if we have to be someplace at 2- we tell them 1 so we can get there on time -

sometimes - it’s not there fault - like when it took 5 hours to drive 45 minutes - but when you have to be someplace that is 45 minutes away and you leave 10 minutes before you get there - then I may have to kill you.

Usually I am on time. Except for when I am late.

In my early 20’s I was late for everything. All the time. How obnoxious was I? Yeah, pretty much thought I owned the world (of clocks).

Seriously, I try to always be at least a few minutes early. To work I am sometimes an hour early, but that is because I drive from Sacramento to San Francisco to get there and there is no room for error unless I am super early.

I am always early, and people who are chronically late really frustrate me. I’ll lie to them and tell them that events start a half hour earlier than they actually do just so they’ll be on time.

I am late for things I don’t quite see the point in having a specific start time.

I am early for things that are very important.

On time means you just missed being late, so I wouldn’t bother saying I’m on time for anything.

I am one of the annoying people that are usually at least a couple minutes late. And I hate it.

However, certain things that I absolutely can.not.no.way.no.how be late… then I’m at least 5 minutes early…

It’s different every day… I don’t know why I let myself be late… there is nothing more I hate than being rushed because I wanted to sleep an extra 5 minutes or shower an extra 5 minutes or just sit on the damn couch an extra 5 minutes…

    Damn it!

Depends on what it is. For extended family stuff — usually late because they are always late.

Other stuff I tend to be on time or a touch early. But from time to time, I have been known to be on the late side of fashionable. I read somewhere that being on time is a sign of respect. I try to keep that in mind at all times.

I try to be on time, but I tend to run a little on the late side (usually no more than 10mins). Unless it’s an appointment or job interview. Then I’m usually early. I actually plan to be there 20-30 mins early just to be safe…

Always early. I do my best to be punctual and get very anxious if something threatens my timeline. If I’m going to be late (even 3 minutes late), I will call to let you know and give you an adjusted ETA.

Because I make such an effort to be on time, it totally burns my ass when other people are chronically late. Five to ten minutes is one thing. Half an hour or more is another.

I’m early to nearly everything. Unless I get lost, then I call with really rambling messages that sound something like, “dude, I’m so freaking sorry, I’m late I know. I suck.”
I hate being late so much so that I often show up for work about 10 minutes early every damn day I work.

I run on QST (queer standard time) which ensures that I am almost always 15 minutes late everywhere I go. I make an entrance.

I’m always early. I’m anal like that. I hate being late. I get really pissed at myself when I’m running late. I’m mean too, so it’s nasty when I’m pissed at myself.

I am almost always on time and expect it from everyone around me. So I know how you feel. My daughter is the one that I am losing large amounts of patience with, since it never fails that I will wait anywhere from 10 mins to 30 mins for her, even though I’ve called numerous times before to make sure she will be ready. But yet when she wants to be somewhere (a concert or with friends), she pushes to be on time. Selective time management. Grrr!
