You may or may not have noticed that there was no Blogger of the Month in September. Yeah uh, hrm…wonder what happened to my brain? However, never fear because at the end of this post, *you* are all going to help me fix that by nominating *your* favorite blogs! Anyway, we shall get to all of that nonsense later. For now, let’s give October the proper attention and respect that it deserves!
Now then, as I’ve said before, there are no prerequisites for what makes someone my Blogger of the Month. One month it could be about how well a person waxes prosaic while another it could simply be that their layout did not bug the shit out of me. This month it’s not really about waxing nor is it about layout (although this blogger does have a good one). Nope…this month I wanted to feature someone who has a lot of important things to say and often makes me think. I won’t lie…I sometimes disagree with this person’s views on things but with that said, I’m reading and thinking and feeling all informed WITHOUT feeling pissed off or like I’m being talked down to. These things are very important. Besides, the other half of this person’s posts are totally fun and make me giggle to no end. Who the hell am I talking about?
Ladies and Gentleman (or whatever we all are), please join me in congratulating Dawg for being October’s Blogger of the Month! WooHoo, you *know* you’re throwing party hats and streamers while drinking crazy assed blue cocktails filled with tequila! While you’re there, get your thinking caps on because I’d like for all of you that either know Dawg or read one of his blogs to tell me what you like about him and/or tell me what your favorite blog post of his is! Personally, I had a blast meeting him at TequilaCon ‘08 and even though I was drunk pretty much every time we talked, I could still tell that he has a heart of a teddy bear and the intellect of a…wait, what is a smart animal? I don’t want to say “elephant” here cause that is just rude. Oh oh oh…the intellect of a dolphin! Anyway, Dawg was very fun to hang out with and seeing him and Poppy together just made me go “awwww” about 10 times a day! He’s a good egg and let me tell you, there aren’t many of those around anymore. Another little secret I’ve learned since then is that his intuition is freakishly accurate…but uh, we won’t go into *how* I know that.
Like I said before, as a *blogger*, Dawg makes me think. I often have to lay my own views at the door but I have to say that when he writes about important issues, I am always impressed. He not only writes well but also puts a lot of time and thought into each serious post that he writes. But enough of that stuff…he’s also super funny! Did you know that he has another blog (or vlog, I should say) called Cereal Wednesday? Sure nuff! No matter what he is writing, I think it all comes down to this…I love his blog because he is who he is, sans pretense. Again, rare qualities.

Maybe you could go here and help him out, huh? And then, when you are done doing that, maybe you can share with me what it is about Dawg or his blog that make you giggle like a schoolgirl, swoon like a southern belle, or yanno, whatever it is that you do! Whatever the case, give props to Dawg, dammit!
Now then for that pesky little matter of me not doing my job in September…who would *you* like to nominate for September Blogger of the Month? You may think it’s not important that we go back and have one but uh, when the voting comes in January for the Blogger of the Year, it will SO matter! What I love most about Dawg is that he is constantly surprising me. He is smart as hell, is open-minded and has a tremendous heart. Excellent choice!

Dawg is freaking awesome. Period. Now that he and Poppy are together, well - I didn’t know such extreme awesomeness could exist!

I haven’t stopped laughing at that little sentence fragment yet.
In all honesty, the reason I fell in love with Dawg as a blogger is because of his Cereal Wednesday videos with DJ. And then I fell in love with his writing. And then when it was time I fell in love with him. blah blah blah
And as I already mentioned, all of his posts are my favorite, but my favoritest ones are when he talks about my girl Ripley. He loves her to little tiny pieces, and she loves him that much right back, so his posts about her always choke me up.
Did anyone else read all the way to the bottom? I am going outside The Circle and voting Amy from P2P for September. She’s smokin’ hot, she’s a programmer, she’s a mom, she magically buys an entire cart of stuff at the store and ends up with them paying her, and she even goes to church! Dawg and I met her at the HBC dinner, so the irony here is that I didn’t know she existed in September… which makes it even more fitting that Quirky Poppy would nominate her.
(PS - He’s not home yet, but I’ve emailed him telling him he needs to come read this post when he gets here.)

He is my favorite Euripides’ line… “Let my heart be wise. It is the gods’ best gift.”
