June 15th, 2009
I’ve decided that my new favorite word is “whimsy” in all of its various forms. Maybe that’s because I’ve always been drawn to whimsy or because I spent a weekend full of people that seem to be exactly the same way…at least while on vacation! There is so much to talk about that I don’t even know where to begin. I did a ton of soul searching on this trip even though to look at me, you’d have never guessed. There are so many problems that one can sort through while having heavy conversations with people and their perspectives, even while completely fucking inebriated. With that said, none of those feelings are coming to light this morning. I figure they are good for at least a week of blog posts (about my feelings, not ConFab) so today I’d rather give you some quick bullets that are made of disco and filled with an awesome creamy center.
1.) Britt, Adam and I all took the same flights to and from Lexington. On our way there, we were totally excited about the trip and after the obligatory “half hour nap at the beginning of the flight”, we got our little picnic meals and started to chit chat and laugh. After about maybe a half hour of that, the lady in front of us completely and unexpectedly turns her head around and says to Britt and me:
“You have been talking the entire flight….and not only talking, but talking and laughing very loudly. I mean, I’ve even put two sets of earphones on and can hear you above those. The only thing that could be worse than sitting in front of you would be sitting in front of a screaming baby.”
She then turned around without letting us really get a word in edgewise. Honestly, this woman accomplished something that no man has ever been capable of…she rendered both Britt and I completely speechless. I don’t know if it is because we were flabbergasted that she would do that or silenced by her lack of humanity and decency as a human being. If we were being that loud and annoying? She could have politely asked us to keep it down but she talked to us as if she had the devil on speed dial. I hope karma is feeding her a shanker infested dick right now.
2.) While dragging poor Becky around Lexington all day Friday and then making her get a new wardrobe and a new look, someone (cough Britt cough) decided that she’d like to dye my hair blond. I was like, okay sure. I mean seriously, it’s just hair. However, seeing that my hair is naturally very dark, it would have taken way too many processes to lighten it and keep it healthy so suddenly someone exclaimed, “Ooooh black! Let’s dye it black!”. I know what you’re thinking….black hair? I was a little anxious but from the moment the hair dryer started working it’s magic, I fell in love with my new “Snow White” persona and cannot see going back to red for quite some time. Let’s have a looksee, shall we?
I stole the one on the left from Sodapop, by the way. I am sure better pics will surface somewhere later today! Pictures are slowly being added to a Flickr pool.
3.) I had an amazing time at ConFab and want to thank both Brad and Liz for hosting such a rad party. Seriously, they bought food, drinks and let us all defile their home! Also, I am really proud of myself because for the first time at a party, I think I pretty much flitted. What does that mean? Well, I’ll tell ya. I’ve been known to go around and say hello to people but then to pretty much stick by Davey-Joe or Britt or whoever else I may have come with. This weekend I was all over the place, having conversations with multiple groups of people and spending time chatting with individuals as well. I really only steered clear from one area and that’s only because it was made known early on (and very loudly, I might add) that a certain person in that group finds me to be an annoying bitch. That’s fine…you don’t have to like me. Don’t even worry about the fact that you haven’t even got to know me or anything. Seriously, that’s all gravy.
Uh, I think I lost my point….ha! I just adore the new friends that I made this weekend and would not have changed anything for the world. I got to “jump people in” and have a meeting of the mafia families, play lawn games, dance my booty off, drink like a fish, have amazing conversations and embarrass myself by telling a girl how cute and hot I think she is. All good things.
4.) My instincts were so dead on about a few things this weekend that I’m thinking of making people pay me to tell them their futures. When I wasn’t busy gabbing and drinking, I was watching others and noticing things that they probably wish I didn’t. Don’t worry people, it’s not that you’re not sneaky enough for the average bear…just not this chick!
5.) Brad and Liz make strong drinks. They are the first people to have me questioning whether or not I was going to puke at a party in the last ten years. Luckily I did NOT puke, but there was an hour or so where that was very iffy!
6.) I may still be a little drunk.
There is so much more to say but I’m hungry and sleepy and probably should pretend to work go read everyone’s blogs since I haven’t had a computer in four days. I guess the party finally has to come to an end….or DOES it?

Meeting YOU was one of the highlights of the weekend for me. I wish we could have gotten more time to talk, but time was too short. You are more beautiful in person than any picture could ever portray, and you were joyful and certainly not a bitch. I can’t imagine why anybody would perceive that.
