Every damned morning (including the ones that I need to sleep in because I drank way too much the night before), my cat FC will hop up onto my bed, slowly make his way up to the head of the bed, sit down right next to my pillow, then slowly stick his paw out and touch my face. Once that bores him, he’ll nestle his little head into my neck and rub his cold little nose on me. He does this every freaking morning and doesn’t stop until my feet hit the floor and make their way to the kitchen to make coffee. You’d think that knowing this, I’d shut my door at night when I sleep but oh hell no…if I do *that*, he scratches at the door and thumps on it. He’s a little menace and quite frankly, way too up in my kool-aid.
That got me thinking about....

WHAT IS YOUR ANIMAL OF CHOICE?
ARE YOU A “DOG PERSON” OR A “CAT PERSON” OR A “BIRD PERSON” OR A “REPTILE PERSON” OR AN ANIMAL HATER OR SOME OTHER THING I HAVEN’T THOUGHT OF?
Me? First and foremost, I am probably a cat person but I also love dogs. Since I’ve been renting pretty much almost all of my life, it’s just easier to have a cat than a dog. If I could, I would probably have both, truth be told. I cannot handle birds or reptiles. First of all, birds are all chirpy and noisy all of the time…bleh. Secondly, reptiles give me the wiggins big time. So yeah, I will stick with my furry little feline for now, thanks.

I would prefer no animals.
Yes, I know, I’m a horrible person.
BUT – if I have to have a pet, I prefer cats because they’re fairly independent. Specifically, I prefer calico cats because they have a “I’ll let you know when I’m interested, otherwise don’t fuck with me” attitude. I can appreciate that.

I am an animal person who lives best with cats and dogs but enjoys all the others out in the world. Except the fucking mosquitoes. Those little shitheads can go Hari Kari themselves.

Definitely mroe of a cat person, but I love dogs, too. Ideally, I’d have a dog, but circumstances also call for a cat for us, too.
Not a fan of small dogs, though. Too yippy.

I’m definitely a dog person. Deathly allergic to cats. I’ve had parakeets, fish, hamsters, a rabbit, and snakes. Reticulated Python, Indian Python, Burmese Python and a pair of Brazillian Rainbow Boas. From here on out, it’s Mini Schnauzers, love my little Higgins…who BTW, does exactly what FC does…and he still sleeps in our bed too. :-)

I can’t have any animals in this apt, but I’ve always had cats, up until now. I had dogs growing up, but I think they need lots of space to run around in, and I haven’t had that to give them in a long time. I like cats a little more, because they’re more independent, but dogs are fun too.
I’ve also lived on a farm, so I’ve had chickens and goats, and any number of other animals.
I’ve had fish, but I had cleaning tanks.
Birds freak me out. Not really a fan. Chickens I dealt with, but they were stupid. The smart birds make me nervous. Like parrots, that can possibly eat your hand off.
I am fine will all manner of reptile. I used to catch salamanders and bring them home, as a kid. That made my mother especially thrilled, I’m sure. But, I’ve always like reptiles. They’re interesting.

Chickens really are dumb, but they’re funny to watch! Maybe because they’re so dumb.

I am a cat person – although if I had to pick a dog for a pet, it would either be a pug, a yorkie or a bulldog.

I’m a dog person. And a bird person. And a fish person. Not so much with the cats because they’re kind of too into the birds and fish if you know what I mean. It would be a bloodbath around here!
Right now we have one very spoiled beagle, a moody chinchilla, 8 fish, 7 of which live outside in the pond, 9 chicken beyotches, and 4 turkeys. I don’t dig birds that live in the house, mostly because I’m allergic. That doesn’t count the wild rabbits that live in our yard and the 80 gabillionity wild birds and squirrels.
Cats are cool animals, but I don’t think I’ll ever have one.

I’m a dog person first (I currently have four, three English Mastiff’s and one Boston Terrorist I mean, Terrier), cat second (when I lived in Utah, we had four cats and five dogs – I’m a sucker for a furry little face), fish third. Then I’m done. Birds annoy the hell out of me, I might as well get 25 yapping toddlers to live in the house, they’re just as noisy and messy. I used to have a garden snake that I named Gobo, but the rat that my cousin’s pig nose snake ate for dinner, ate my snake first and that was the end of my reptile days.

I grew up with dogs, and now we have a dog and a cat. We did have two dogs and a cat, but I found another home for Oscar the chihuahua when it became apparent that he needed to be an “only” dog.
I can’t stand birds though. They’re noisy, messy, and the big ones can out live you. Reptiles, small furry’s, and hedgehogs are OK.

In my house at this moment.. and I mean THIS moment. 4 dogs, 5 cats, one lizard (who, OMG when do these things die already, is 12 or 13), one baby goat.
I don’t know. I think this makes me a multi-pet lover.Or Mini pet lover, or MANY pet lover.
Frankly, I just think I’m NUTS.

I am most definitely a cat person, and there’s 3 in the house right now – 2 oldies living upstairs with Ma and our 2yo downstairs with us. I’ve had dogs before, and Ma has one, but I just don’t like them as much. I love my ferrets, but I don’t like the fact that they’re not very snuggly (well, neither of the ones I’ve had were very snuggly).

I am allergic to cats even though I love them. I’m also allergic to birds. We currently have a dog because it was all my son ever asked for every birthday and christmas since he learned how to talk. I thought I wasn’t really an animal person, and would still prefer not to have the responsibility of one more living creature depending on me, but I do love her like crazy. If I had someone else to take care of them, I’d have tons of dogs and cats though because snuggles from them are the best so I guess it isn’t so much that I’m not an animal person, it is more that I am LAZY and don’t want the responsibility.

while i am in general an animal lover, i cannot live without a dog…my life is simply incomplete if a dog doesn’t reside with me.
there are very few cats that i truly love, but i swear cats can tell i am mostly a dog person because they are all super snuggly with me. like somehow they are trying to convert me.
i’ve had birds, snakes, frogs, lizards, baby squirrels, baby raccoons…just about anything. love em all. i’d love to have a boa, but i think my dogs would not appreciate one the way i would.

I am DEFINITELY an animal person. Foremost a cat person, except I’m a dog person too; I’m an all-around animal person! Except for slimey reptiles (don’t like them), EXCEPT for turtles. Gotta love turtles. It always makes my day when I can stop and rescue a turtle from the road before some a-hole runs over him just for fun.

It’s not that I don’t like cats, just most cats don’t like me. I love dogs, just not the ones that shed a lot. If we are ever able to have a dog, it’d be something badass, like a rot or bulldog or something.
That all being said, I will refrain from extending an invitation to my home to you. You’d be freaked out. We have a greek tortoise, a painted slider (water turtle) and another water turtle but we don’t know what he is.
Next on our list to add to our little reptile house is a snake of some sort, probably a dinky garter snake, hermit crabs and albino frogs.
We also have a cat, who is a total pain in the ass but we found him when he was an itty bitty thing – didn’t even have teeth yet – so I had to bring him home.

I am definitely a cat person. I think some dogs are cute sometimes, but for the most part I can’t handle the slobber and the constant need for attention. I like that my cat will ignore me and come cuddle when she’s ready. I like how strong her personality is and how she is truly her own furry person.
I’d love to get a bearded dragon, though. I’ve always been fascinated with reptiles, which might have something to do with being teased and called “Lizard” as a child…

I’m a dog person all the way. I really can’t stand cats, at least the cats I’ve met (what kind of pet is one that hides whenever people are around?!), but maybe those of you who adore cats have the more social kind.
My dog loves all of us but is DEVOTED to my husband. Whenever he has a cold and coughs in the night, the dog puts his front paws on my side of the bed and sticks his face in my face to let me know that I need to do something to take care of hubby. EVERY TIME HE COUGHS! We’ve had to shut him out of the room and he still comes to our door and puts his paws on it when he hears a cough…but only from my husband. I or the kids could cough up a lung and he would just be annoyed that we woke him up.

I am a cat person, no question. I like dogs too, but only other people’s dogs – they are a lot of work, and I like that with someone else’s dog I can play and then send them home…
And as much as I love my cats, there are days when I think it would be nice to have black clothes without cat hair all over them…

I like most animals. I have two dogs and a cat at home. I’m interning at a police department right now and last week I almost brought home a cat that the animal control lady had. I don’t think my mom would have liked that though so I couldn’t. I have seen a few animals that the animal control lady has had and I want them all.

But I do love me the penguins. It’s just they are not easy to have as a pet for most people, including me.
