Snackie Sunday: Bullets Over Hillywood

Ack!  I’ve got a few things to catch everyone up on so I thought I would combine the notion of Dave’s Bullet Sunday with my very own Snackie Sunday in order to get it all out there!  So basically, I’ve got my peanut butter in Dave’s chocolate! (TWKS)  Jinkies, let me shut up and roll that beautiful bean footage:

[ SNACKIE SUNDAY ]: Yesterday I spent the day out and about with my girl Winter.  We had a fabulous time eating, shopping and getting our nails done.  And well….you know how it is when women sit in a nail salon for a long period of time….they like to gab! One of the subjects that came up was work and eventually the topics of what kind of a boss we like. So I thought I’d ask you a rather simple question today…

WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE A MALE OR FEMALE BOSS?

I’ve always preferred working for a man.  As a matter of fact, I’ve only had two female bosses in my lifetime and believe you me, one of those two was more than enough.  It’s no secret that I tend to gravitate towards being friends with men so that may play a slight role here but also?  I just find male bosses to be a lot more easy going in general while women bosses tend to be freaking uptight.  But hey, that’s just my experience…what about yours?

Who Do You Want To Be Today?

If getting Oingo Boingo stuck in your heads all day isn’t love and appreciation, I don’t know what the hell is!  Meanwhile, Blog Reader Appreciation Week is coming to a close here on Snackie’s World and I have to say, it’s been hella fun!  I know that I did not technically go all week long like this superstar but hey, I gave it my all and am totally spent.  Besides, I wonder if all of you are completely tired of participating yet.  No?  Good, cause you shouldn’t be, thank you very much.  Anyway, how about I put down the feisty for five seconds and get on with today’s final Blog Reader Appreciation Week post!  Today I am making you think and NOT making you think all at the same time, because I have two questions.

1.  When is your birthday? I like to keep a birthday calendar and send out little notes, cards or gifts to people on their special day but that’s hard to do when you find out it’s their birthday on the same fucking day!

2. What, if any, acronym would you like me to use for your name? You see, I’ve got this neat-o little plugin that allows me to call you something creative so that others will see it when they use their mouses to roll over your name.   To see examples of this, roll over some of the ones I’ve already created:  Dave, Foo, Shiny, Britt, Karl.  See what I mean, jellybean?  I want YOU to come up with what your acronym text will be!  It can be anything from one word to a whole phrase (for example, on Fab’s blog, I think I picked something like “tiara wielding snarkstress of blogcool” but am not exactly sure).  The point is that you can be called whatever the hell you like!  (Oh and for those of you that I have already given acronyms to, you are allowed to change them if you like!).

Also, this just in: Yesterday I received THIS: a jar of chocolate chip cookie dough peanut butter (!) from PB Loco and am adding it to the prize pot!  There will actually be two winners on each post with prizes, so make sure you’ve done them both by Saturday afternoon!  Oh and, if you LOVE peanut butter…be sure to let me know.

Tooting Your Own Horns….

Hey cats and kittens, it’s time for more hot Blog Reader Appreciation Week action!  This week is all about me appreciating the hell out of you and the rewards range from random prizes to just making you feel as all loved and stuff.  Some of you are lurkers, some readers who pass by once and again, some regular commenters and blog friends for years, and others who have wormed their way into my everyday life and have become my dearest friends.  No matter how long we’ve known each other or how well we know each other, I am here to tell you that ALL of you matter.  Without each and every one of you, this would just be Hilly’s Blog, not the wonder that is Snackie’s World because hi….a “world” needs a diversity of cool people running around and shit. 

 Blog Reader Appreciation Week

Just in case anyone wonders, both previous Blog Reader Appreciation Week posts are still open for questions and comments!  I’m amazed at the response to both the ‘question“ and “declaration“ posts and hope you’re all feeling like you have a place to just let it all hang out!  Speaking of which, today is no exception.  It may be blatantly obvious by now that my Blog Reader Appreciation Week post choices are not just random bits of chance…in fact, I’m often putting new variations on old themes.  These posts are made to make everyone feel welcome and like they can participate each day so I hope it’s coming across the way I intend it to! 

We all know that in order to be loved, we need to love ourselves.  I believe that the same holds true for appreciation…we must able to notice and relish the great qualities that we have in order for others to see the same.  So today is sorta like Self-Love Day but with a twist of limon!  Here’s what you’re going to do….you’re going to tell me three things that you love about yourself.  I know that this sometimes can be a really hard thing to do but please just sit down and find three!  Then, if you want, you can tell me ONE thing that you like about me.  Of course, in comments, I will tell you the one thing that I like most about you.  And please, take more time to figure out what it is that you like about yourself than what it is you like about me….because again, it is ALL ABOUT YOU this week.   So, as one to never ask anything from you that I would not do myself, here are mine:

About Me:

1.)  I am amazingly technologically savvy, generally sans instruction manuals. 
2.) I’m loving, warm and extremely loyal.
3.) I have a great sense of humor and can bring the funny!

About You:

1.) In general, you are an awesome group of people.  I rarely get stink-ass comments here and just realized that I don’t have a blog enemy, so there’s that!  I’ll get more specific with individuals.

By the way, today is a CONTEST WINNING KIND OF DAY!  Each person that is able to find those three things that they absolutely adore about themselves will get their names “put into a hat” then I will “pick out a name” at the end of the week!  (I use quotations because I’ll actually use an online generator ala Avitable but yanno…same concept).  Today’s prize will be a $30.00 Amazon Gift Certificate with a runner-up prize of a little Homedics handheld massager in either hot pink or electric blue! (No pervs, really a massager!).  So bring your milkshake to the yard and start telling me what you like about yourself.

She’s Letting It All Hang Out….

As I may have mentioned yesterday (yanno, in bold face font), this is Blog Reader Appreciation Week and the hot madcap action continues today!  This week is all about me appreciating the hell out of you and the rewards range from random prizes to just giving you a space to make your voices heard.  As I said yesterday…..some of you are lurkers, some readers who pass by once and again, some regular commenters and blog friends for years, and others who have wormed their way into my everyday life and have become my dearest friends.  No matter how long we’ve known each other or how well we know each other, I am here to tell you that ALL of you matter.  Without each and every one of you, this would just be Hilly’s Blog, not the wonder that is Snackie’s World because hi….a “world” needs a diversity of cool people running around and shit. 

Blog Reader Appreciation Week

You know that thing that I mentioned, like maybe three seconds ago, about giving you a place to make your voices heard?  That’s what today is all about here in my crazy little cupcake den of whoredom.  Sometimes we all want to vent and just say something to someone that they really need to hear.  Well okay, maybe it’s something that we really need to say, but common senses dictates that we hold it in and zip the fucking lip.  I find myself doing that a lot here on my blog because I know that people from various sections of my non-net life read and there is only so much I want them knowing about me.  I find myself doing it in life a lot too because I don’t just blab out everything I want to, contrary to popular belief!  But it can get frustrating, can’t it?  Not having a place to put that random shit out there by saying what you want to say?

Well fear no more, cause I am totally down for you!  Today I want you to let it rip!  Is there something you are just dying to say to someone, negative or positive?  Would you prefer to not have to name that person but just freaking be able to say it?  Here’s the deal….go ahead and say whatever it is that you need to say here, no questions asked.  You can say direct your statements or keep them generalized.  In a way, this is like the Confession Booth posts in that you can use your real name when you comment or you can comment anonymously….just remember that pesky auto-fill if you want to be anonymous!  Also, just like the Confession Booth posts, I will probably post anonymous statements in the comments as well.  Shit, a woman needs to appreciate herself too! 

In case you are confused, here are some examples of the things that I want to say to certain people out there…

1.) For someone who never apologizes, you sure do expect a lot of forgiveness.
2.) You’ll never fully understand the happiness you’ve brought to my life.
3.) Sometimes I need you to turn off the sarcasm and just be my friend.
4.) Can you please stop saying that you don’t speak “Mexican”? It’s Spanish, fucko.
5.) One of my favorite things about you is that you make me laugh so much.

And there you go…that’s how it’s done. So please, have at it…vent away by saying exactly what it is that you want to say!

I’m So Yours For The Taking….

Hey!  Didya hear?  Didya see?  Didya know?  It’s Blog Reader Appreciation Week and although I am two days late and about fifty dollars short, I’m here to appreciate the hell out of each and every one of you, over and over again.  Sure, I’ll be spent by the end of the week but as we all know, there’s no pleasure without a little pain.  In any case, I first learned about Blog Reader Appreciation Week from the ever so swankalicious Shiny (who is actually doing some really fun stuff all week long).  Also, I later noticed that a couple other people had joined in on the action and quite honestly just could not be left out…so here we are!

Blog Reader Appreciation Week

For the next week (well until Saturday because I’m not giving you my all, ironically), I’ll be showing my appreciation to all of you, my readers.  Some of you are lurkers, some readers who pass by once and again, some regular commenters and blog friends for years, and others who have wormed their way into my everyday life and have become my dearest friends.  No matter how long we’ve known each other or how well we know each other, I am here to tell you that ALL of you matter.  Without each and every one of you, this would just be Hilly’s Blog, not the wonder that is Snackie’s World because hi….a “world” needs a diversity of cool people running around and shit.

So my first offering to you this week is a peek inside of who I really am and/or what I really do.  I am letting you all ask me any fucking question you want and I will answer them right here on my blog!  Your question can be something as small as “Gee Hilly, what toothpaste do you think is just swell?” to something large like, “What keeps you awake at night?“.  You can also go the non-personal route and ask me a “how to” question like “How do I add a banner to my site?” or “What is the secret to driving like a maniac?“.  My point is that no question is too big or too small!  And because this is all about you and your creepy curiosity (heh), I will answer you directly, not cryptically.  I must add a disclaimer that anything inflammatory or rude will neither be tolerated nor answered (oooh, Snarky Hilly!).  Also?  There’s an extra special treat to this “Question Quest”!  The question that I like the best will make you the winner of a $25.00 Amazon Gift Certificate come week’s end!  I may also give a runner up prize for most creative question but don’t break your back trying to be cute…just be yourself!

So go ahead and sock it to me…ask any question of me that you want!  If you have more than one, you can ask them but please let me know which is your “priority question” because I will answer that first (in the comments section) then come back and answer the others when I’ve given everyone a shot.  And please, no one think their question will be stupid…trust me, I’d suck at this hardcore!  Besides, if you don’t play along, I look like an asstard and no one wants that, right?
