Snackie Sunday: Bullets Over Hillywood

Ack!  I’ve got a few things to catch everyone up on so I thought I would combine the notion of Dave’s Bullet Sunday with my very own Snackie Sunday in order to get it all out there!  So basically, I’ve got my peanut butter in Dave’s chocolate! (TWKS)  Jinkies, let me shut up and roll that beautiful bean footage:

[ SNACKIE SUNDAY ]: Yesterday I spent the day out and about with my girl Winter.  We had a fabulous time eating, shopping and getting our nails done.  And well….you know how it is when women sit in a nail salon for a long period of time….they like to gab! One of the subjects that came up was work and eventually the topics of what kind of a boss we like. So I thought I’d ask you a rather simple question today…

WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE A MALE OR FEMALE BOSS?

I’ve always preferred working for a man.  As a matter of fact, I’ve only had two female bosses in my lifetime and believe you me, one of those two was more than enough.  It’s no secret that I tend to gravitate towards being friends with men so that may play a slight role here but also?  I just find male bosses to be a lot more easy going in general while women bosses tend to be freaking uptight.  But hey, that’s just my experience…what about yours?

Getting Hot With Blogography…

Hilly-Sue Does Davey-JoeSnackie Radiois back this Sunday and my guest-star is none other than the swankalicious Davey-Joe (yanno, Dave2 from Blogography).  Our topic this week will be “How much is too much?“.  Specifically, how much personal information should a blogger share with the PRB?  What constitutes TMI versus being “an open person”?  And…what are the ramifications of sharing too much or too little? 

In the words of Davey-Joe himself, “It will be a good show, because we both have entirely different styles of blogging, yet respect each other’s choices.”  And that is totally true!  Dave and I are at completely opposite ends of this spectrum so while our opinions on this topic will most likely be like night and day, I promise you that we won’t go for each other’s jugulars (well unless he’s into that sort of thing ;) ).  So please join us as we rock the radio with some hardcore hilarity and wow, an actual topic for once! 

Also, the “Sunday Radio Rock Block” is till alive and kickin’ (sang with my best Simple Minds impersonation).  Since uh…the radio show after mine is sort of uh…on hiatus right now, I will be extending my show so that it is two hours long.  Before that, Karl’s daughter has actally agreed to be on his radio show, so that should be a neat treat for those that are so inclined to listen.  Also?  Turnbaby is back and will be standing strong while doing her radio show ( I hear Shiny is the guest!).  So please, grab a cocktail (or five) and settle on in for what may prove to be a very interesting day….here is the breakdown:

This Just In: The Iron Fist Sheds His Pants For Snackie Radio!

Tonight, Snackie Radio was blessed with the presence of the oh-so-delicious Vahid from Iron Fist.  Despite a small technical issue and distraction in the beginning, it was still a fabulous show!  I was like "DJ Funky Hillylicious" for a second but thankfully the men talked me through it and all ended up well, yay!  I have to say a huge thank you to Vahid for doing "pantless radio" with me while fielding crazy-assed random questions, not only from listeners but also from your truly.  I’d give you keywords but we really were all over the place!

As usual, I
am adding the player to this post but there are many other ways that
you can enjoy Snackie Radio.  The best way is to listen live, however since the whole world does not seem to revolve around me, you can also go here to listen to or download the show.  You can ALSO sign up for the Snackie Radio RSS feed and each show will dump into your feed reader each week.  There’s also a way to make it feed directly to your iTunes! All you have to do is search for "Snackie Radio" in the iTunes Podcast Directory then hit "subscribe"!

When An Iron Fist Runs Rampant Through Snackie’s World…

Yes, I am posting this information way earlier than usual.  Also?  Much different format this time too!  Why?  Well, a few reasons…

1. Tomorrow I am posting the winner and prize for my comment contest!
2. I’d like to promote my guests earlier in the week so that the people who don’t blog on the weekends know what’s coming up.
3. I’m trying to branch out, step outside of the incestuous bubble, and encourage those who are *not* on the radio every other weekend to come join me in my happy place.

One of the things I am trying to start is allowing all of YOU to submit questions/topics or discussion for my guest and I to talk about.  I’m still not rigid enough (TWKS) to have a strict format and will obviously stray down a dark path filled with innuendo each week, however…that does not mean that we can’t get in some fine quality programming.  And hey, what the listeners want, the listeners get!

The Jungle Is Alive…

Fifteen minutes into my latest radio show, my guest star Mr. Fabulous said, "you know this actually a fairly intelligent show so far today" as if he were pleasantly shocked.  I have to say that I was tickled to hear him say that because I am really trying to be a more active host and engage my guest to the fullest.  That being said, sometimes Snackie Radio is just going to be the zoo of "cockfest" that it always seems to become but I am making a very concentrated effort to make sure everyone feels happy and welcome after spending an hour in my sweet sweet embrace.  I think we had a wonderful show and I cannot think Fab enough for being my guest.  At one point in time, we were joined by both Karl and Turnbaby (shocker!) and let me tell you, this show zig-zagged around many different topics, but in a very non-confusing way.  If I had to add tags to the show, they would be:

new relationships/moving/radio formats/cultivating closer blog relationships/
comment stats/blog circles/blog comments/avitable’s halloween party/
merchandising ourselves/dying/crying/sex/fab is fucking turnbaby/
hilly is a better driver than fab/dave’s tiara/pms

Sunday Radio Rock Block (aka: Cock Me, Amadeus!)…

I know that every Saturday I come to my ever so humble blog abode and talk
about the same freaking thing….my radio show.  However, this week I thought
I’d be altruistic to my Blog Talk Radio posse (what is with me and the word
"posse" lately?) and tell you about *everyones* radio shows, which I now deem

hope many of you can….but if you are one of those people that actually has

The Radio Show That Is Definitely NSFW!

As usual, put Jester and Hilly on the same radio show, add sugar and spice, stir violently, and you end up with a totally NSFW mess!  And by "mess" I mean "dirty fun".  I don’t know how we went from innocently planning a NorCal gathering to horses to underpants to blow jobs and back to baby powder.  Of course when Turnbaby (the horse whisperer) and Shiny (Mr. Thrid Person) called in, it all went to hell in a double-wide hand basket.   I really have to warn you that when someone like *me* says NSFW, you really need to hide the kids before listening!

Where Jester Tries To Get Me On The Adults Only Circuit!

If you have ever listened to Jester’s radio show, you know that I might have mayyyyybe been responsible for getting an "Adults Only" rating attached to his show.  Hey, yanno I feel bad and all that but those are just the risks you have to be willing to take when you invite me to talk about anything I want.  Ahem.  However, I feel that I may be screwed sans lube this Sunday when Jester goes a little "tit for tat" on my ass when he is my special guest STAR on Snackie Radio.  I’ve really not planned anything specific other than to expect a guest from the fat cats at Blog Talk Radio as they tell me I’m banned or what have you.  Trust me, if there is one show you don’t want to miss, it’s this one!  I hope you will join us this Sunday at 3PST/6EST!  You can go here to set yourself a little reminder.

Snackie Radio: Two Weeks In A Row?

Although I’ve officially been rocking the flu from hell for a couple of days now, the show must and WILL go on!  I have to warn you all that even though I’ll be there, I will definitely be doped up on all kinds of fun little cold medications so listen at your own risk!  Truth be told, this is probably the MOST prepared I’ve ever been for a radio show because this week’s guest star send me tons of information about herself that I can work with.  So please turn on and tune into Snackie Radio this Sunday when we’ll talk about everything from death to vampires to cemeteries to swingers and finally, rock-n-roll!  I’m sure lots of other stuff will be peppered in but that’s just a taste, cause I’m cool like that.
